Toibo News - June 2018

Last month we focused on our main project, Project Sunshine. This month we tell you about the smaller projects that make a big difference in the lives of children.

Project Warm Body. Winter makes us aware once more of the hardships that people have to endure. During the past month we had to urgently purchase warm jerseys and windbreakers for children. With the help of a donation from the Mr Price Foundation, we were able to warm the little bodies of 35 children. Unfortunately there are still so many who yearn for something warm.

During the following months we want to again draw your attention to the importance of TOIBO’s projects. All the projects are in support of the underprivileged children in our schools.

We begin with Project Sunshine. This project support children with school fees, hostel fees, transport cost, special equipment, Food, Clothing, assistance to achievers in academics, sport and culture

Toibo News - April 2018

This month we bring you news of the heroic deed of one of our learners that ended tragically. On 28 February little Thapelo Tambani drowned in a water-filled ditch at a construction site in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria. Thapelo was a nine year old deaf boy in grade 4 at the Transoranje School for the Deaf.

Toibo News - September 2017

The Dutch Reformed Church Wierdapark South held a feast on 2 September. Shanay Coetzer, a blind girl from Prinshof School, performed there. Project Heartbeat also received a boost with a donation of R1 113,25 (cents) and R1 500 through the Youth Ministry.

Toibo News - August 2017

During the past month we were privileged to celebrate TOIBO's 70th birthday at three of the Institute's schools. Each school received a gift of R70 000, and the Tree of the Year, the buffalo thorn, was planted as symbol of hope.

Toibo News - July 2017

TOIBO has been especially blessed the past month with all the donations we received. The sisters delivered from far and wide – Dutch Reformed Church Sanddrif the most beautiful matric farewell dresses as well as much more clothing, Reformed Church Rietvallei brand-new warm jackets, Netherdutch Reformed Church Secunda parcels with stationery and a nice warm scarf, Reformed Church Kroonstad scarves, gloves and caps, and Dutch Reformed Church Sasolburg Central scarves and gloves. Reformed Church Pretoria-Brooklyn knitted the cutest little dolls for the pre-school children.
